Create a Google Slides Presentation

  1. Click here to open Google Drive

  2. If prompted, login to your google account

  3. Once you are logged in, click + New in the top left corner of your screen

  4. Choose Google Slides

  5. Name your presentation - Create your slides


Convert a PowerPoint Presentation to a Google Slides Presentation

  1. Click here to open Google Drive

  2. If prompted, login to your google account

  3. Once you are logged in, click + New in the top left corner of your screen

  4. Choose File Upload

  5. Find your PowerPoint file and upload it.

  6. **Sometimes the formatting gets messed up a bit. Don't forget to check your slides after they have been uploaded to make sure they look and work how you want them to.


My presentation is a video. How do I provide it to Communications in "Google Slides" format?

  1. Click here to open YouTube

  2. If prompted, login to your YouTube account

  3. Click + Create in the top right corner of your screen

  4. Choose Upload Video

  5. Add your video

  6. Change the title if needed - scroll down to the bottom

  7. Choose the toggle button for "No, it's not 'Made for Kids' " - Click Next

  8. Click Next again

  9. Click Next again

  10. Choose the toggle button for "Unlisted" - Click Save (It is important that you choose unlisted and NOT private so that anyone with the link can play your video.

  11. Copy the Video Link

  12. Click here to open Google Drive

  13. If prompted, login to your google account

  14. Once you are logged in, click + New in the top left corner of your screen, Choose Google Slides

  15. Name your presentation

  16. On the first (and only slide), choose Insert from the Menu Bar at the top of the screen.

  17. Choose Video from the drop down list

  18. With the YouTube tab selected (default), paste your YouTube link and hit enter

  19. Select your video - Click Insert

  20. Resize the video to fill the slide

  21. Follow the instructions for sharing the slide with Communications
